Assessment Renewable Energy for Indonesian Archipelago, 2014

IIEE as consultant for Hivos conducted the Research Assessment of Renewable Energy for the Indonesian Archipelago. The objective of the research is to assess the national situation of energy portfolio development for remote islands. In the study, IIEE collected primary data through desk study and undertook interview with relevant stakeholders (i.e. donors, governments, development implementing organization, NGOs) to get more information. The result of interview with Directorate of Various New Energy and Renewable Energy (MEMR); Assistance Deputy of Mineral, Energy, Environment and Tourism (Ministry for Development of Disadvantaged Regions); USAID-ICED; GIZ-EnDev; Winrock International, Directorate of Bioenergy (MEMR) and PLN showed that there are 9 islands have been chosen as potential islands. Then, IIEE provided recommendation of six potential islands for further follow up by Hivos.
