As a member of national team of coaching for the preparation of regional energy planning (Rencana Umum Energi Daerah Provinsi/RUED-P), The Indonesian Institute for Energy Economics (IIEE) has been participating actively in the preparation of RUED-P. The involvement ranging from providing capacity building to technical assistance for government officers. The establishment of RUED-P has been a mandatory for each province to be issued within a year since the general plan for national energy (Rencana Umum Energi Nasional/RUEN) was issued early 2017.
As a think tank organization, IIEE who previously involved in some part of the preparation of RUEN making, has been given another opportunity for taking part in the preparation of RUED-P. The roadmap of RUED-P coaching preparation includes: (i) preparation, (ii) data compilation and coaching, (iii) technical coaching, (iv) result calibration, (iv) finalization of draft RUED-P.
IIEE was taking part in capacity building provision for the RUED technical team, the executive director of IIEE, Dr. Hakimul Batih was invited by Human Resource Development Center for Electricity, New Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to give lecture at short course to the government officers of provincial level. He was invited to share the materials related to the energy modeling. In addition to that, IIEE has also attended continuously a series of regional workshop in the three (3) regions, starting from eastern region which was held in Makassar (16-19 May 2017), Western region (held in Medan, 21-24 May 2017), Central region (held in Yogyakarta, 28-31 May 2017). During the workshop, IIEE team served as facilitator for some provinces namely West Sulawesi, West Sumatera, Central Java and North Kalimantan. IIEE team provided assistance for provincial government officers in completing the data needed as requested by the national team team of Pembinaan Penyusunan (P2) RUED-P. For the regional workshop held in Medan, the executive director of IIEE, Dr. Hakimul Batih was invited as moderator at the workshop; he moderated a lively discussion with the speakers from the members of National Energy Council.
